I have faith in you and I am proud of you!"           Dan Christenson

Jacket Volleyball Players

Play hard.  Give it your absolutely best effort.  You may never have another chance at something like this.  When you walk of the court after that last game, do it knowing that you played as hard as you could.  If you do that, you'll have the satisfaction that you did the best you could.  Maybe after your last game you'll be walking off a volleyball court at the Xcel Center.

Good Luck!
Tom  &  Mary

Mom Peggy Maasjo sent this message for you lady jackets.....our daughters.

"Good Luck, Ladies, as you enter playoffs. I just have one message for
you. Volleyball is 90% mental. You train everyday. If you have a
terrible game, you have not forgotten how to play. It is mental. You
have exceptional talent on this team. Your opposing teams will not do
anything you have not done in a drill. Keep the "next ball" mentality.
Don't get frustrated by a mistake. Talk to each other. Keep each other
focused and in the game. Mistakes will happen but learn from them and
move on to the next ball-that is what matters. I have confidence in all
of you. Go accomplish your goal! Stay focused and you will be
unbeatable! Remember-HAVE FUN!"

Watching you girls grow into beautiful, talented young women has been an awesome part of parenting! I have always believed that this team could go all the way--one play at a time.  Just keep cool and concentrate on your strengths.

Here are two strong women, Janet and Becky. They are always cheering everyone on.  Hey Shannon, your years are coming. This is team work.  So much of everything happens "backstage".  All life is a stage!
Hey Sandy, Happy Birthday, Nov. 25.  You just get younger.  Maria and Shelby hard at work. You can see why this has been such a dynamic team.  Look at these Moms!  Thanks Vicki, Peggy and Rox.
Did you ladies really finish all of these posters already?  Hey, the banner takes the cake!  Shelby was the star painter!   Somebody is very tired!  Jenny and Becky give far beyond the call of duty.  This is how we grow our children in Perham. How are the wisdom teeth Jen?

YOU CAN!!  Whatever you are faced with, you can handle...whatever you are
feeling, you can cope....whatever you fear you can conquer... as long as you
believe in yourselves as a team as much as your parents, family, and friends
believe in you.....it's been a fun ride and we know you haven't run out of
gas yet...we'll be there to cheer you on ...
GO JACKETS, NO MERCY!!!!!!!

Christenson Family, now of Perham.  Welcome. Steph says to her teammates:-
"We have been building up to this point in our volleyball career for about 6 years now! Let's make it mean something and show everyone what we are made of! Thank you to ALL my teammates for a wonderful senior season."
Sandy Riestenberg,  Perham Sports person from the 70's and a cheerleader for all Perham sports.  Thanks

"Girls!!!, the Alexandria, Moorhead and Detroit Lakes coaches  know that you are the most dangerous team in the section.  Their players don't have the same respect as their coaches do.  When you get ahead in the game go for the KILL and the match will be yours.  Good Luck

Tom,

"My mom filled me in about the page. It was really fun to see and it made me realize how much  I really miss playing. I already sent the girls a card but I don't think that they will get it before the game tonight. I hope this helps them win their game!! I'll be cheering for them even if I can't be there tonight. I'm coming for sure on Tuesday! Thanks Tom! ~Frances

This is the time of your life that you have been waiting for for years. This is also a time in your life that you will look back on for years. Make the memory a great one! You are in control of your own destiny. 'Destiny is not a matter of chance, it is a matter of choice; it is not a thing to be waited for it is a thing to be achieved.'

Tournament tested, tournament tough!

Good Luck!! I'll be there in spirit!

We would like to share a poem with all of you that Brooke wrote in sixth grade entitled "Life Song."

I am a running brook(e)
At times very talkative
I keep on trying
Sometimes I run into obstacles but I get
myself out
Sometimes you can hear me laughing miles away.
I never run out of steam except late at
night
I am full of life

Good Luck Lady Yellowjackets in Volleyball 2001 Tournament Play.  May you keep on running and never quit trying.  "Talk it up" and overcome all obstacles.  We want to hear you laughing for miles and NEVER run out of steam except late at night (after each match)!  You are full of life!

"This year has been unbelievable...so far.  Our team is looking sharp and I am looking forward to a great playoff series. We have spent the season building friendships and working our senior experience in with a bunch of skillful ladies." - Co-captain, Katie Meinhover

"Thanks for a good year ladies!"

A message from Co-Captain
Nicole Maasjo

" It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey
that matters, in the end.  And what a journey we have had.  We have
spent 6 amazing years learning about eachother but most of finding
ourselves. We all have a friendship and a bond that will never be
broken.  I just want to thank all of you for all of the good times and
laughter and lets show 'em what Perham volleyball is made of.  Love you
guys, Maas
P.S.   K.A."

A Mother's pride could not be more obvious.  The Yellowjackets gave Debbie a birthday gift of winning against Frazee--plus, thanks Kate--"flower girl" How many years have the Hamanns been watching volleyball with three talented and athletic girls?  The winner of this trick question receives a prize.
