CLASSES OF 2012-13

 

Happy Johnny Apple Seed Day. 

This is the 10th annual celebration at the Heart of Lakes School,  where the second grade class receives their graduation class number,
 (this year 2012).

On this Date,  Sept. 29, 2001, the kids and staff planted an apple tree that will forever remain their class tree. 
This is the 10th apple tree, donated by J Apple Seed, to be planted on the grounds.  The first tree was planted by this years graduation class, 2002  and has been bearing apples for several years.

 

  

Thanks to all the Second Grade Staff for making this tree planting possible and special thanks to Tracy Hein for being the organizer for this year..

Each student got a chance to throw some soil into the hole.
Mr. K helped start the annual J Apple Seed planting.  In 1992 it was her first years of teaching and Katie Meinhover (backright)was one of her students.  This year's graduation class of 2002 planted the first tree in the courtyard,  There are 9 trees there.  Go and visit them sometime.

Plants their symbolic Apple Tree at the Heart of the Lakes

This was the 11th class to plant their Apple Tree on the school grounds.
J Apple Seed has sent his emissary each year to add to the Apple Orchard at the Perham School.  Thanks to Johnny and the folks who help him.
