Congratulations Karen Zitzow Laughlin "....your community is very grateful, to you for your 18 years service. " The following Photo essay has recorded the events at Perham Middle School on the night of January 11, 2001. In front of a full house crowd, Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball played and beat Hawley. The PACC Gymnastics performed three times and the 1991 State Tournament Girls Basketball team was reunited. The first section of Photographs attempts to record the activities organized by The Perham Activates Office. This evening was Hi-lighted by the third annual "Women in Sports Award" The award went to Karen Zitzow Laughlin. |
The Perham Area Activities Center sponsored Gymnastics team performed throughout this evening. Included in this Photoessay are pictures of the kids, coaches and parents. Thanks to all of you. It is the hard work and the volunteering that make this small town of our work. |
1991 Girls Basketball team. This is the first and only PHS basketball team to advance to the state tournament. At this 10 year reunion, our community recognizes them for their achievement and reminds us of the capabilities of our kids. |

8th grade girls basketball had the concessions for the evening. Thanks for volunteering ladies. This is the kind of reason why we support activities in the schools. Like Their Role Model, Karen Laughlin, We are sure that many of you will keep up community service in your adult years. |

Coaches Becky and Paul, first years in each of their positions. "A good team" it is said. Both have big shoes to fill to a community that likes to win and sometimes is not nice about it. Good luck and know that there is a lot of support out there for you. |

In every game there is a sections where the generation gather. Here the Winkels, Meyers, Zitzows from a few generations enjoy 'a family night out.' Heidi Meyer...another 1000 point winner from eerier years, with son Joseph and husband Cory. Thanks for coming back......Heidi. |

What a great line up of team leaders in girls sports. Janet, Ruth Darrel and Karen. Our community of parents have not always treated them well. With great hope.....we have grown out of that kind of negativity. These people span the life our sports in Perham.. |
Karen.....her life in mid-stream. In this community of ours having gone from Student, mom to the coaching award this night......lots of years life......lets all help. |

This Program has been build only over the last couple of years. You have brought over 500 girls into the rigor of athletics and achievement and self discipline. They draw their kids form Moorhead to Vining. Let us all support this............... |
